History of RUDRAPUR
Rudrapur is a major city in the Terai region of Uttarakhand and serves as the headquarters of Udham Singh Nagar district. Established in the 16th century by King Rudra Chand of the Chand Dynasty, the city holds rich historical and cultural heritage. It was named after King Rudra Chand, who built a fort and the famous Atariya Devi Temple here.
